This website is the result of many hundreds of hours of research, reading endless pages of parish records, searching genealogy websites, and visiting distant villages – but also compiling the work of many others who already revealed much of the family tree. Thanks is given to each of these people.

As a compilation of historical records, the reading can be heavy. And, not much is revealed by history about many of the subjects, particularly as we venture further back in time. However, where possible, and without reading more into the available information than was written at the time, an attempt has been made to add some colour and context around what otherwise might present as a tedious cycle of births, marriages, and deaths. Thankfully, many of these ancestors lived colourful lives indeed!

The information is organised by family group, starting with the families of each of my grandparents:

Before beginning, it is recommended to take a quick look at the Notes on Interpretation.

Please enjoy, and feel free to reach out with any further information, questions, or if you believe something is incorrect! Most profiles end with opportunities for further research – any information supporting discoveries in these areas is particularly appreciated and will be included in future updates.
